Are you an experienced SHEQ Auditor? You can help create a greener UK About the role A greener, more environmentally-friendly UK is possible and were making it happen.
As a Senior SHEQ Auditor at SUEZ resource & recycling UK, you'll be contributing to a recycling and resource management company thats helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.
What will I be doing? What will I be doing as a SHEQ Auditor? You will prepare and carry out SHEQ audits (both alone and as a member of a team) across all SUEZ resource & recycling UK premises and business activities (including contractors and sub-contractors where required). This may, from time to time, include other Suez BUs both within and outside the UK. Following your audits, you will prepare reports on levels of compliance and raise corrective actions as required. You may occasionally be required to participate in the investigation of Critical Incidents and assist in the preparation and conduct of legal proceedings. You will contribute to the evaluation and auditing of suppliers and contractors, as well as helping to monitor and carry out Due Diligence for proposed acquisitions and new business. You may be required to participate in the recommendation of changes in policies, procedures and working practices, help monitor the review and revision of SHEQ policies & procedures to ensure continued compliance with all legal and other relevant requirements in conjunction with members of operational support teams.
What are the requirements? (Experience & qualifications) Senior SHEQ Auditors will ideally hold a level of professional status requiring continuous professional development in both Health & Safety and Environmental practice and/or auditing. However, it is recognised that applicants are more likely to hold such a level in one or the other discipline and are less likely to be equally qualified in both. Therefore, applicants must hold relevant qualifications at a suitable level that collectively span both disciplines, and this should include a recognised ISO 14001 and/or BS OHSAS 18001 auditing qualification. The successful applicant will be expected to engage positively in continuous professional development in order to increase their qualifications and professional status to achieve parity of status at a high level across both disciplines. Applicants should be aware that whilst there will be a basic regional focus, the demands of this role are such that there will be extensive travel around the UK and frequent nights away from home. Although potentially based anywhere in the UK, we would prefer the successful applicant to live within or have easy access to the South East of England.
