At FCO Services, we protect information, assets and people on behalf of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and other government customers in the UK and around the world. You’ll be working across both FCO Services and the FCO to measure the environmental impact of both organisations and identify opportunities to make improvements.

You’ll help make two leading organisations more sustainable
This role gives you three key areas of responsibility. One is to deliver environmental reporting and data. Another is to provide management for the Environmental Management System (EMS). You will also get involved in wider market work, finding and engaging new clients.Your overall aim will be to reduce our environmental impact in areas such as greenhouse gases, transport, waste and recycling, and water consumption.

To succeed, you will need to liaise extensively with other departments and organisations and with individuals both internally and externally. You will engage with our volunteer internal auditors who will support you in delivery of our environmental management aims.
You’ll know how to handle a wide range of environmental data
With 66 different data sets of varying nature coming in on a monthly basis, you will definitely need to be meticulous in your data management approach and have a real eye for detail. Given the nature of this role, it’s also important that you have strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Your background could be in any sector, private or public, as long as you have experience of managing an EMS. Ideally, you will also have IEMA membership, CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant qualifications and a knowledge of BREEAM.

And you’ll relish the opportunity to move forward and grow
Between them, FCO Services and the FCO employ 4,500 people in the UK and many more around the world. So there is plenty of scope for you to reduce our environmental impact and make a real difference. There will also be lots of opportunities for you to progress your career, as you take advantage of our current expansion and growth to broaden your experience, develop your skills and potentially move on to even bigger and more challenging roles.

All our employees have to be security cleared to the highest level, so you will need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.
