Principal / Associate Heritage Consultant Coventry or Hemel Hempstead RSK has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Principal / Associate Heritage Consultant to join our growing teams to work on one of the most high profile infrastructure projects in the UK. Commencing in February/March 2017 the successful candidate will take a leading role in the management and organisation of the Cultural Heritage contributions to EIA and associated Consents in the rail sector. You will be expected to have good team leadership and management skills, a proven record of managing data collection and preparation of high quality technical reports and have experience of large multidisciplinary projects, providing support to tender submissions, building lasting client relationships and working collaboratively with multifaceted project delivery teams. The successful candidate will be working on high profile projects principally in the rail sector helping some of the UKs leading organisations to safeguard the environment for the future. The position may include periods of co-located working in clients offices. Responsibilities Preparing Archaeology and Cultural Heritage chapters for EIA and managing consents; Providing advice on primary and secondary consenting options and requirements; Providing historic environment input to optioneering and design development; Preparing, editing and review of EIA chapters, desk based assessments, heritage statements, Written schemes of investigation and associated documents; Financial and commercial management of projects; Supporting business development and work winning activities; and Building existing and new client relationships to ensure repeat business. Desired experience Degree level qualified in a relevant discipline; Preferably a post-graduate qualification; Full Membership of CIfA (or IHBC); 10 years previous experience working on EIA projects; Experience of managing archaeological projects; Experience of negotiation with statutory consultees on behalf of clients; Relevant experience in the rail sector is essential, including preparation of Environmental Statements in support of TWAO / DCO applications; Working knowledge of UK heritage legislation, policy and guidance; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Good team player, with the ability to work autonomously; Well established leadership skills Full UK driving licence and Enthusiastic and well organised.
