Principal / Senior Environmental Consultants Manchester/Cheshire RSK has an excellent opportunity for experienced Principal and Senior Environmental Consultants to join our growing teams to work on some of the most high profile infrastructure projects in the UK. Commencing in February/March 2017 the successful candidates will take key roles in the management and organisation of EIA and Consents projects principally in the rail sector. You will be expected to have a proven record of successful project management and have experience of managing or supporting large multidisciplinary projects, providing support to tender submissions, building lasting client relationships and working collaboratively with multifaceted project delivery teams. The successful candidates will be working on high profile projects principally in the rail sector helping some of the UKs leading organisations to safeguard the environment for the future. The positions may include periods of co-located working in clients offices. Responsibilities Managing / supporting EIA and Consents projects; Providing advice on primary and secondary consenting options and requirements; Providing sustainability/environmental input during optioneering and design development; Editing and review of Environmental Statements/EIA Reports and associated documents; Financial and commercial management of projects; Project management including developing project programme; Supporting business development and work winning activities; and Building existing and new client relationships to ensure repeat business. Desired experience for Principal Consultants BSc degree level qualified in a relevant discipline; Preferably MSc qualified in Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Management or related subject; Full membership of IEMA and Chartered Environmentalist; Managing EIA and Consents projects; 15 years previous experience working on EIA projects; Relevant experience in the rail sector is essential, including preparation of Environmental Statements in support of TWAO / DCO applications; Technical review of ES chapters and other reports; Working knowledge of UK environmental legislation; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Good team player, with the ability to work autonomously; Well established leadership skills; Full UK driving licence; Enthusiastic and well organised. Desired experience for Senior Consultants BSc degree level qualified in a relevant discipline; Preferably MSc qualified in Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Management or related subject; Minimum as an Associate member of IEMA and working towards or preferably having gained Chartered Environmentalist status; Supporting EIA and Consents projects; Min 5-8 years previous experience working on EIA projects; Relevant experience in the rail sector is preferred, including preparation of Environmental Statements in support of TWAO / DCO applications; Working knowledge of UK environmental legislation; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Good team player, with the ability to work autonomously; Full UK driving licence; Enthusiastic and well organised.
