Acre has been engaged by a leading commodities company Foundation to hire an accomplished Livelihoods Programme Manager.Reporting directly to the CEO of the Foundation, the successful individual will manage the Foundation's livelihood investment portfolio. You will be instrumental in increasing demand and helping young people transit from education to meaningful employment. You will achieve this by strengthening market systems so that people living in deprivation can access the tools they need to work themselves out of poverty, including knowledge, finance, energy, connectivity, technical inputs and markets.Key Responsibilities:Fund transformational, sustainable, scalable and replicable investments in developmentSupport and strengthen government, private sector and community systems to provide sustainable employment opportunitiesShare models of evidence based best practice that can be scaled by government, private sector and/or communitiesManage projects and oversee them from concept note to final application stage and monitor the ongoing process of grantsExpand engagement and leverage the knowledge base of the Foundation worldwideThe Livelihoods Programme Manager will work alongside three other Programme Managers, as part of a small team, to increase the impact of the Foundation by making fewer but larger investments in exemplary projects. To put this into context, in 2015, the Foundation supported 27 Livelihoods projects in 26 countries, 12 of which were new grants. Of the Livelihoods budget, 55% was spent in Africa, 32% in Asia, 9% in Latin America and 4% in the Middle East. Skills and capabilities:Experience of grant management and the ability to manage a finite budget and identify appropriate projectsDemonstrable understanding of the global livelihood context, having kept abreast of developments within the livelihood sectorProven experience of working in developing countries in international developmentTrack record of processing projects and overseeing them from concept note to final application stageMaster's Degree in international development or another relevant subject. (Five or more years of relevant international experience will be considered in lieu of this qualification)This is a brilliant opportunity to work with a Foundation that has funded over 1,700 projects that have had a direct impact on the four areas that are critical to a child's development: Health, WASH, Education and Livelihoods.
