We currently have an opportunity for a Senior SHE Advisor who specialises in Environmental to join our Operational SHE Team at our Barrow-In-Furness site. Working under the direction of the Senior SHE Manager, on a day to day basis you will work with all areas of the business, providing advice, guidance and enforcement in respect of Environmental Management. You will also represent the company as the Point of Contact for all Environmental Regulators. The Operational SHE Team are responsible for giving advice and guidance with regards to a number of environmental issues including waste management, emissions to air, discharges to water, chemical/fuel spills and environmental risk assessments. Your main responsibilities as a Senior SHE Advisor Environmental will involve:  Ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental legislation, permits, authorisations, guidance and best practice across all submarine sites Preparing environmental assessments and influence the company’s environmental risk register Assisting the business with the implementation of the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards Liaising with all Environmental Regulators to ensure that the company is compliant with all statutory requirements  Undertaking and support all applicable audits and inspections as required by legislation and ISO 14001 management systems across all submarine sites. Undertaking reactive evidence gathering post incidents and accidents on site Undertaking reactive inspections as required by emerging issues Supporting investigations as a result of incidents and in accordance with company procedures Providing environmental legislative interpretation and guidance to the business as required Developing and delivering SHE training packages as required by the business across all submarine sites   Your skills and qualifications as a Senior SHE Advisor Environmental: Degree in Environmental Science or related discipline You are experienced in a Lead role already with SHE  Previous experience within the Manufacturing Sector Associate or full member of IEMA or other professional body Previous experience of auditing 14001 Environmental Management Systems NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety   What we're looking for in you: You will have strong negotiating and organisation skills. You will have good commercial awareness and an understanding of business, teamed with being self-motivated and be able to motivate staff at all levels. To be successful you will need to be an excellent communicator, both orally and in writing and be able to establish effective networks within the company and with external organisations quickly.
