The Acre Team have recently been engaged on an exclusive basis by Rexam to recruit an Environmental Affairs Manager. As a leading global beverage can maker, in this role you will be working with some of the worlds most famous and successful consumer brands, trade associations and industry committees.It is anticipated that Rexam will be acquired by Ball Corporation at the end of June. This acquisition provides a successful candidate with an opportunity to create, develop and implement bespoke sustainability and environmental programmes which support the initiatives of the combined global customer base. There is real scope for an ambitious candidate to build an industry-leading sustainability initiative within this newly combined organisation. Key responsibilities include:Leading and managing of the business' regulatory affairs & sustainability activities in the Central European Hub - this region includes Germany, Austria, Benelux and Switzerland as well our markets in Central Eastern Europe (e.g. Belarus, Romania, Czech Republic and Slovenia)Representing the business at a cross-regional level at key industry forums, conferences, leading industry committees and in national policy developmentsDeveloping and implementing customer sustainability initiatives and providing expert advise on a variety of sustainability issuesEmbedding and lobbying the environmental benefits of end of life recycling across multiple stakeholdersThe successful candidate will demonstrate:Proven experience of representing company interests at industry level, including work within national policyExperience or a strong understanding of regulatory affairs and lobbying in external environments such as trade associations, government bodies and industry committeesAn understanding of the sustainability issues surrounding the packaging industry and their practical implementation relative to the commercial, governmental and non-profit sectorFluent written and spoken German and EnglishKnowledge of managing communications, events and social media agencies are desirable but not essential.This is an exceptional opportunity to develop your career in a progressive and highly successful international business that prides itself on significant employee investment and support.
