SummaryA great opportunity for an environmental graduate looking to gain experience in geo-environmental consultancy.The successful applicant will have relevant environmental related degree with an ambition of developing experience in the industry.You will be working within both the water and land groups routinely undertaking:*On-site monitoring of ground gases and groundwater using specialist equipment;*Walkovers of sites as part of initial reporting;*Scheduling laboratory testing; and,*Compilation of factual data from each site visit. *Compilation of plans and sections in GIS, CAD and other software packages.Structured training and mentoring will be provided to form the basis of excellent career progression. Your project time is likely to be predominantly field orientated but with time also spent office. Fieldwork will frequently require visits to operational quarry sites and various other occupied or unoccupied sites throughout the UK. Flexibility to travel and work away from home, sometimes for extended periods of site work, will be important, in addition to the ability to operate independently and safely in sensitive situations. For the right applicant, future training may be provided in the use of GIS and CAD.LocationCardiffCapabilities and Qualifications:Essential*Educated to degree level in related geology / physical geography (Bsc)*Enthusiastic individual with minimum 3 A-Levels including maths and/ or a science at C or above *Must be technically and practically minded.*Good excel skills essential.*Must be diligent and methodical.*Must have appreciation of importance of health and safety.*Must be able to exercise initiative on site whilst at the same time be aware of when to defer to senior colleagues for help and advice.*Must have current full and clean UK driving licence.*Must be a full UK resident and legally able to work in the UK.*Happy to be out on site across south Wales and the UK regularly throughout the year.*Happy to work independently and as a team across a range of greenfield, brownfield and mineral extraction sites.*Be able to represent the company professionally to a range of stakeholders, including clients and colleagues.*Have excellent communication and writing skills.
