SummaryExceptional opportunity for an experienced Contaminated Land consultant looking to take the next step up in their career. This is a great opportunity to take on responsibility of leading an established team of Geo-environmental specialists based in Hertfordshire. You will be part of a wider National team within this world class consulting firm.The opportunity has arisen due to the relocation of the current team lead within the business as well as a significant book of work going forward.You will therefore play a key role in driving technical excellence, client management and continued sector growth as part of the team. Supporting contaminated land investigation, assessment and remediation projects, you will be entrusted with the continued successful financial performance of the team and will contribute to the strategic direction of the broader Ground Risk & Remediation business.You will ideally have minimum of 8 years' post-graduate technical experience of large scale complex projects as well as experience of managing junior staff and supporting business development The position would suit someone who would like to further develop their leadership skills and continue their career in technical consultancy and client management. You should have a successful / demonstrable track record in contaminated land management and business leadership, be enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and dynamic with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will ideally hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject (Environmental Science, Environmental Geoscience, Applied Geology or Hydrogeology), full membership of an appropriate professional body and would ideally be chartered.Role Responsibilities·Key player in site investigation and remediation team in London and South East.·Overseeing key projects across a variety of sites, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.·Business development, including identifying bid opportunities, managing client relationships and attending industry events.·Preparation of proposals, bids and tenders.·Mentoring junior staff.Ideal experience·Proven managerial experience·Excellent commercial skills.·Highly experienced in all aspects of contaminated land.·Well connected and good understanding of the UK property market.·Strong report writing and presentation experience.·Versatile project manager. Capabilities and Qualifications·Bachelors or higher in an environmental science or engineering discipline.·Ideally you will have minimum of 8 years of environmental consulting experience and have gained professional membership.·Strong technical background within contaminated land investigation, risk assessment, and/or remediation.·Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.·Ability to work independently or in a project team with excellent problem solving, writing, and presenting skills.·Detailed understanding of environmental regulations related to the assessment and management of contaminated land.·Must possess a driving licence and passport and be willing to travel.About the opportunityThis is a fantastic opportunity to join this globally recognised consultancy.
