Acre has been engaged by a Global Retail and Property Development business to identify their Environmental & Sustainability Manager on a 9-12 month Fixed Term contract basis.  Our client owns and manages some of the most exciting retail destinations Globally and has been in business for more than 50 years. This role is essential to the continued success and development of their sustainability programme.   Key Objectives of the role: To lead and direct the environmental & sustainability aspects of the operational management of Shopping Centres & Head Office and the delivery of environmental & sustainability targets and commitments for new development projects To provide advice on best practice, compliance & costs saving initiatives and assist in their implementation Main Duties & Responsibilities: Be responsible for developing & implementing an annual business plan, identifying risks & opportunities together with appropriate costs to maximise any ROI Become the champion for Low carbon, Environmental & Sustainable operational initiatives Provide support, direction and monitor performance of any low carbon, environmental & sustainable initiatives Produce & communicate any case studies and good news stories through Yammer, In house, PR & Corporate channels Develop key relationships with international & national stakeholders, external agencies, internal and external customers Manage collation of UK/Europe data from all centres, constructions sites & HO, with supporting documentation, required for annual external reporting (GHG, CDP, GRI, CRC, GRESB etc) and check for completeness. Benchmark against prior year and comment on variances Maintain reporting systems for delivery of internal reporting, for example monthly Board report. Maintain ISO14001 accreditation The successful individual will require an assertive but engaging personality, excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach and a broad appreciation of the challenges of working across a large and complex retail/property portfolio. Ideally degree level educated with experience of working in a shopping centre or retail environment Demonstrate an awareness & experience of implementation of Environmental & Sustainable initiatives Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation Demonstrate computer literacy in Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint Strong network of external contacts within environmental organisations & consultants Strong data analysis skills, both quantitative and qualitative This is an exciting position within a well establish retail business and is a unique opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career or broaden their sector experience in a dynamic working environment.
