About the role Create a better place, that’s our strategy – and joining us as a Senior Environmental Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in helping us to deliver it. The National Environment Assessment Service (NEAS) is responsible for project managing the environmental impact of our multi-million pound capital flood and coastal risk management schemes and strategies. As a vital part of the team, you’ll be managing environmental risks to project delivery and constantly seeking out opportunities for improvement. Right now, we’re looking for a Senior Environmental Project Manager based in central London. The role promises a great amount of variety, challenge and high profile work. You will help drive forward the delivery of a wide range of projects (primarily flood and coastal risk management schemes) associated with the TEAM2100 programme, supporting delivery of the next 10 years of capital investment in Thames Estuary. The TEAM2100 programme is the first of its kind for the Environment Agency, a pathfinder contract and one of the Government’s top 40 priority investments.  At around £300M it is the largest single flood risk management contract in the UK. Working within an integrated delivery team you will be exposed to a wide range of experiences from environmental risk management, stakeholder engagement and driving forward the delivery of environmental outcomes. About you You’ll come to us from a similar senior environmental project manager role with a wealth of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and/or Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) experience under your belt. As well as a degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, you’ll hold a professional membership of IEMA, CIEEM (formally known as IEEM), CIWEM or similar body and, ideally, foundation level PRINCE2 status. You’re an environmental risk management champion with good knowledge of flood/coastal risk management and a proven track record of delivering projects on time, on budget and to the highest standard. You will be able to effectively communicate across the business at all levels and with external partners and stakeholders. Your influencing and negotiating skills will be key in addressing environmental issues and delivering outcomes. With a background of managing and/or writing environmental assessments in a project context, you’ll understand how to address environmental issues and deliver outcomes as part of a large project team. A willingness to travel and a full UK driving license are requirements for this role. About us The Environment Agency operates at the place where environmental change has its greatest impact on people’s lives. We work closely with a wide range of partners to make sure there is enough water for people; reduce the risk of flooding; protect and improve air, land and water quality and apply the environmental standards within which industry can operate. The rewards                          As well as the opportunity to make a real difference to the environment, you can look forward to a competitive package with a range of benefits, including flexible and family-friendly working arrangements, generous holiday and pension.
