Our client is one of Europe's leading environmental consultants offering multidisciplinary expertise across a wide range of specialist areas. Due to the nature of the company they are able to deal with a large variety of projects while still maintaining their firm client care values. Due to continued expansion they are currently recruiting for an experienced Ecologist to join their environmental team in Nottinghamshire. The successful candidate will be required to undertake field surveys, ecological impact assessments and mitigation planning for various projects. The projects will range from one day surveys and stand alone reports to large scale schemes as part of a team on Environmental Impact Assessments. Other duties will include designing mitigation strategies for minimising any impacts on habitats and species of conservation importance and conducting protected species work. Applicants will have at least 2 year post-graduate experience of ecological field surveys, EIA, mitigation design, ecological restoration and preparation of habitat management plans. Experience of stand-alone ecological reports and knowledge of current legislation is also required along with a good all round ecological ability and competent botanical identification skills. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of protected species work and a protected species licence would be an advantage. A degree in Ecology is essential and a Masters in a relevant subject is desirable. Ideally, the successful candidate will be a full member of the IEEM or possess the experience to become a member. In return, the company will offer a very competitive package to the successful candidate.
