This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious aquatic ecologist to join a globally renowned Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy with industry leading reputation for the high quality of their work. You will be in a range of projects across the North West, including some of the biggest water contracts in the region as well as various field surveys and reporting tasks. The successful ecological survey, analysis and occasional design work delivered from our offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, York, Sheffield, and Cumbria.   Your core professional expertise will be in ecology, ideally with a proven expertise in aquatic ecology.  Location Leeds Responsibilities To develop and grow the aquatic ecology service offering; To deliver high-quality EIA programmes to agreed budgets and deadlines; To contribute to team resourcing, training, and strategic management; To identify business development opportunities; To take a support role in the preparation of bids and tenders;  To maintain compliance with Management Systems as appropriate. To identify skills gaps and advise the leadership of potential need for training in technical or professional topics. Capabilities and Qualifications: First degree in appropriate subject Ideally higher degree(s) in appropriate subject Experience of aquatic survey techniques (river habitats survey, macro invertebrates, fish, crayfish and molluscs) implemented on a range of development types. Experience of statistical analysis and associated tools (Rivpacs). Extensive knowledge of current legislation (Water Framework Directive) and guidelines. Proven ability to work in a team environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to work on multiple projects. Full driving licence.   Membership of CIEEM or FBA, CIWEM  Working towards chartered status  Desirable Skills and Knowledge: Held and/or could obtain a crayfish licence. Trained to undertake electro fishing. GIS mapping/analysis skills would be advantageous. Understanding of Ecosystem Services Assessment and experience of their application.
