This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and capable Flood Modeller to join a prominent and renowned Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy with an industry leading reputation for the high quality of their work. The role is based in the developing Flood Risk team which is involved in some of the UK’s most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding. Working closely with the UKs leading authorities and agencies and some of the most established and recognisable establishments. Due to recent contract wins an experienced Flood Modeller is required to sit within the large Flood Risk team based in Cardiff, Birmingham or Guildford. The role will involve leading and developing flood models and inputting into a range of flood risk management studies. In addition the role will involve site visits and liaising with clients. Location Cardiff, Bristol or Guildford Responsibilities Resolving technical modelling issues on projects and carrying out technical reviews of hydraulic models Managing components of projects, taking responsibility for resource and integrity of the overall design Providing technical input into flood risk management and water resource projects Ensuring compliance with company systems of the components of the project. Support in preparation of project proposals / bids / fee estimates Building relationships with clients on projects and with Project Directors and managers. Gaining awareness of commercial aspects of projects Providing input to project team, leading by example and assisting and participating in developing yourself and other team members to their full potential. Gaining experience of and being familiar and compliant with, relevant H & S regulations and promoting a culture of awareness within the team The ideal candidate will have First degree in BEng in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Water Resources or Engineering Hydrology. Proven experience in fluvial modelling using ISIS-TUFLOW software and Flood risk assessment, skills in GIS and excellent Report writing skills are essential for success. In addition this busy role requires excellent communication and analytical skills.
