An opening has arisen for a Contaminated Land Consultant based in our clients Birmingham office, which presents an excellent opportunity for a candidate with some experience in the contaminated land sector. You will be part of a well-established team that is involved in a wide range of different projects in multiple client sectors. The role will involve working alongside experienced consultants and Project Managers in the Birmingham team on desk studies, Phase 1 and 2 contaminated land assessments and remediation projects. Our approach to site investigation means that you will be encouraged to interact with clients at every stage, applying your skills and knowledge to provide workable solutions. Therefore, a key part of your role will be to ensure client satisfaction through proper implementation of project tasks. This role would suit an individual with some experience of field work, who is looking to join a growing consultancy with an enviable track record and a reputation for high quality work in a variety of locations. The successful candidate will be required to take on responsibilities and manage their own workload from Day one and have understanding of GQRA and DQRA. Key work areas shall include:- Working within a team undertaking desk studies, site investigations, remediation, laboratory procurement for environmental analysis, data analysis, factual and interpretive report writing. Ensuring that health and safety issues are addressed throughout the life of a project. Assisting project managers in developing proposals for ground investigations and remediation projects. Coordination of field service subcontractors and supervision of ground investigation works. Collection soil and groundwater samples/data during complex site assessments and remediation projects at various sites in the UK and sometimes at international locations. Compilation and interpretation of field and analytical data into accurate and comprehensive Conceptual  Site Models. Development of GQRA models and, when required, DQRAs. Management of individual tasks within large projects or project management of smaller, simple projects, under the guidance and direction of senior staff.   Required Skills -  Relevant BSc degree (MSc degree preferred) in Geology, Hydrogeology, Contaminated Land, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science. Masters Degree in an environmental discipline would be an advantage. Must have a good understanding of contaminated land assessment including experience of undertaking GQRA, as well as a strong understanding of field sampling and data review. An appreciation of the undertaking of DQRA and application of the various available models would also be advantageous.
