Our client are one of Europe's leading multidisciplinary environmental consultancies, who are now looking to recruit a Senior Ecological Consultant for their office in the West Midlands. The roles main duties will be co-ordinating and undertaking Phase 1 habitat and protected species surveys, Designing and implementing mitigation strategies, Financial management of projects, Production of tenders and reports, Project management and report writing and delivery. You will also have the additional responsibility of managing and mentoring more junior members of the team.  This will include supporting and directing their workload, appraisals and managing any performance management issues.   Desired experience -Previous experience in ecological consultancy essential -Ecological survey experience -Experience in project management  -Person specification -Relevant degree in ecology or related field -Protected species licences essential, especially Bat or Great Crested Newts -Full driving licence -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Good team player, with the ability to work independently -Enthusiasm, energy and drive to develop skills and deliver projects to the highest standard -Report writing experience Person specification -Relevant degree in ecology or related field -Protected Species Licence is essential, especially Bat or Great Crested Newts Licence -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Enthusiasm, energy and drive to develop skills and deliver projects to the highest standard -Report writing experience The successful candidate must be prepared to travel and be happy to work away from home and be flexible on working hours. In addition to the usual benefits, they also offer a 4-day week in the winter to compensate for longer working hours in the summer.
