Our client are an independent arboricultural, ecological and landscape consultancy that works throughout the UK. They are now looking to appoint an Ecological Consultant to work from their office in Kent. Main Duties and Responsibilities -Ecological appraisals -Protected species and vegetation surveys -BREEAM & CfSH Assessments -Communicating with clients by telephone, letters and reports -Implementing mitigation and enhancement strategies -Providing ecological watching briefs Essential Skills and Experience: -Experience of project management, meeting deadlines, working within budgets -Proven experience of surveying protected species and vegetation -Good report writing and communication skills -Previous practicable habitat management experience -Implementation of planning policy and legislation for nature conservation -At least one year of previous experience in the industry -Proficient in the use of AutoCad software desirable -Protected species licences highly desirable Person Specification: -BSc in Ecology or closely related subject -Member of CIEEM or IEMA -Able to demonstrate good all round ecological knowledge -Able to demonstrate understanding of nature conservation and planning legislation -Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately to internal and external contacts verbally and through written communication -Be able to demonstrate an interest in business development -Flexible approach to working as part of a team or individually -Full clean driving licence with access to own vehicle In return you will be offered a competitive salary in a company that will encourage you to grow.
