An excellent job opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Advisor to join an innovative and forward thinking Waste to Renewables Company. Utilising strategic expertise combined with local knowledge this company is pioneering waste transformation into reusable items and energy, to meet societal demands. Giving the environmental challenges faced on a global scale, this role presents the opportunity to join a company committed to delivering value to its clients whilst making a positive impact to the environment.Alongside one other Health and Safety Advisor within the region, this position holder will provide practical advice, guidance and support on all aspects of health and safety, in addition to assisting with the development and implementation of effective health and safety systems.Responsibilities will include:Providing practical support and advice to Line Managers, Supervisors and employees to assess risks and comply with legislation and company standards.Conducting health and safety inspections and audits in conjunction with site visits and complete necessary reports and review progress of corrective actions.Assist with, or conduct as required, investigations in connection with accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences and litigation claims and complete all necessary reports.Liaise with Representatives for Employee Safety (RES) on matters relating to the health, safety and welfare of employees.The successful candidate will:Be a Chartered health and safety practitioner with a natural ability to influence, motivate and engage stakeholders in changing safety behaviours.Possess a NEBOSH Diploma and knowledge of operational issues gained by hands-on experience or at an advisory level on a regional basis.Have experience of working in engineering, processing, heavy plant, construction or similar discipline.Have proven experience of multi-site, regional structures where decision making is fast and de-centralised.Ideally be Six Sigma Green belt qualifiedThis is a fantastic opportunity to join the Health and Safety team within a leading organisation and at the same time make a positive impact in the wider society.
