A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Geo-Environmental Consultant to join a successful environmental consultancy as a Senior/Principal. Our client is a well-established independent consultancy with several offices across the UK.

The successful applicant will have a proven track record delivering high quality consultancy services with excellent project management and communication skills. Excellent client care and communication with contractors and external site based teams is expected through strong project delivery and providing robust pragmatic, commercial advice. In return our client can offer a highly competitive salary and the opportunity to work on a range of interesting and varied projects.

Role

  • Management, both financial and technical input
  • Phase I and Phase II investigations and Phase III remediation
  • Provision of proposals
  • Project planning
  • Management of resources (office or site based) and sub-contractors,
  • Completion of appropriate scheduling of laboratory testing,
  • Site monitoring
  • Data assessment
  • Reporting and financial performance.

Capabilities and Qualifications:

Candidate must have:

  • Qualification to MSc level (or equivalent) in a geo-environmental related discipline such as civil engineering, geology, engineering geology, environmental science or physical geography.
  • Strong geo-environmental background experience and skills including in depth understanding of the geo-environmental, land contamination and remediation aspects of development projects.
  • Proven experience of managing teams, projects and budgets.
  • Extensive Phase I and Phase II investigations and Phase III remediation experience
  • Strong geo-environmental background experience and skills including in depth understanding of the geo-environmental, land contamination and remediation aspects of development projects.
  • Experience completing factual and interpretative Preliminary Risk Assessments (desk based and intrusive assessment) and Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments (DQRA).
  • Sound understanding of current and emerging environmental legislation.
  • Experience of delivering contaminated aspects of development projects through the planning framework.
  • Ability to write technically sound and commercially focused proposals and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced staff.
  • Highly motivated and adaptable with solution orientated approach.
  • Full (clean) driving license required preferably with own transport available for site visits
