Our client is a well-established company with over 20 years experience in the Water Treatment industry, specialising in the three key areas of contracting, equipment and service & maintenance. Due to company growth they are now seeking to recruit a Business Development Sales Manager to work from their Berkshire office.  The company specialises in Tailored Water Solutions, Water Hygiene, Cooling Water Systems, Steam Raising Plant, Closed Water Systems, Equipment, Speciality Chemicals and Training  As Business Development Manager the candidate should have a proven track record in sales to this market and be able to work under their own initiative with minimal supervision. The role will involve direct sales of water treatment & water hygiene services, equipment and chemicals to end users, FM contractors, care homes, property management companies and other similar businesses.  In addition the candidate will be responsible for the management of a small team of Account Managers and for setting and achieving divisional sales targets and strategies. This is a new role created to develop and expand the business requiring the candidate to manage their own lead generation, conversion to customers, produce quotations and manage the accounts opened. They will ideally be based in the Home Counties, with substantial experience in both new business development, and maintaining accounts within this market sector. Main Activities of the Role To act as an integral member of the sales/service team; to participate and liaise effectively with other Divisions  Selling the full range of Water Treatment/ Hygiene services, equipment, chemicals & solutions for existing buildings covering all markets sectors Generating new business leads, with follow up and conversion to customers  Producing quotations against specification or tender requirements  Quote/ tender follow up and closing contracts  Liaising with the operations team & engineers to ensure all new works are programmed as agreed with the client. Managing new accounts until established.  Maintaining up-to date database records Give technical & commercial support to clients & other employees  Exploit opportunities created within other Divisions (Equipment & Contracting Sales) which might present service opportunities Uphold the objectives of the company by fulfilling the business mission statement and business plan. Increase the market share by sales growth, gross profit contribution through own sales and effective management of the sales team. Conduct themselves in a professional manner, in accordance with relevant Health & Safety Standards, Company/ ISO 9001 Standards & Procedures. Role requirements Proven track record within the Water Treatment and Water Hygiene industry  Experience at new lead and new business generation  Excellent sales and negotiation skills  A good understanding of business, costs and profitability  Ability to plan, review and make decisions Good interpersonal skills, with excellent verbal and written communication  Good organisational skills, be able to prioritise effectively and work under pressure  Ability to produce quotations against tenders and meet deadlines  Computer literate with good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint Supply leads to the sales team to assist with maintaining and growing customer base.
