To lead a team of up to seven Resource Efficiency advisors to deliver high quality business growth advice to a portfolio of ambitious business owners and senior managers of companies looking to achieve growth, and to benefit from the transition to a low carbon economy. The Business Growth Hub is at the heart of Greater Manchester's strategy for determining and delivering business growth services. We are part of the Manchester Growth Company and we work with ambitious businesses that want to grow their bottom line, boost their profile, and create new business growth. Our key aim is to help people think differently about their business and explore different ways of developing their company. Our Green Growth team, which incorporates the award-winning ENWORKS service, is now entering an exciting growth phase and we’re looking for a talented individual to join us. Our service has two distinct but connected work-streams: Our Resource Efficiency offering supports companies in all sectors to reduce their energy, water and material usage, so increasing their productivity and profitability and reducing their exposure to environmental business risks such as resource price and availability shocks. Our Low Carbon Sector Development offering supports companies who are operating in, or could diversify into, the low carbon and environmental goods and services (LCEGS) sector; helping them to grow their business, increasing sales and employment. We are now seeking a motivated professional to head up our Resource Efficiency team to help deliver the Eco-Innovation element of a new ERDF-funded programme of innovation support across Greater Manchester.   Required skills and knowledge include: Practical/applied knowledge and experience of the identification and quantification of material, water and energy saving opportunities within SMEs, at all stages of the value chain. Understanding of both the barriers that companies face in adopting new resource-efficient practices and the ways in which these barriers can be overcome. Proven track record in motivating/managing professional teams including appraising, mentoring, coaching to achieve agreed targets Well-developed IT skills, including an understanding of computerised management information systems, spreadsheets, diary management, e-mail and CRM databases Able to demonstrate specialist, technical expertise alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to articulate the benefits of the transition to a low carbon economy to a wide range of stakeholders.
