Aberdeen City Council are looking for a successful, highly motivated individual to lead and manage the development, promotion and governance of a city wide programme – a fully integrated Sustainable Energy Action Plan focusing on our vision of Powering Aberdeen through reducing emissions and seeking alternative forms of energy.  The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about the topic, have significant experience of stakeholder engagement with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively at a senior level.  This future focused individual with be positioned within the Planning and Environmental Policy Team as part of the Communities, Housing and Infrastructure directorate. Critical to this role is strong and effective programme management, leadership, engagement of and liaison with high ranking decision makers (CEOs, politicians, etc.) in the public, private and third sector throughout the city Region and beyond. The successful applicant will be expected to manage, monitor performance, report and communicate on a wide number of projects, working with city wide stakeholders. You will have as a minimum, a degree in a relevant discipline, full membership of a relevant professional body and experience of operating at a management level in a sustainable development discipline. You will be able to demonstrate ability to ensure efficient, effective and customer focused service delivery with a key emphasis on emissions reduction and promotion of renewables.
