The Business Growth Hub is at the heart of Greater Manchester's strategy for determining and delivering business growth services. We are part of the Manchester Growth Company and we work with ambitious businesses that want to grow their bottom line, boost their profile, and create new business growth. Our key aim is to help people think differently about their business and explore different ways of developing their company. Our Green Growth team is now entering an exciting growth phase and we’re looking for talented individuals to join us. Our service has two distinct but connected work-streams: Our Resource Efficiency offering supports companies in all sectors to reduce their energy, water and material usage by adopting eco-efficient and innovative practices, processes and technologies.  Our support allows SMEs to increase their productivity and profitability and reduce their exposure to environmental business risks such as resource price and availability shocks. Our Low Carbon Sector Development offering supports companies who are operating in, or could diversify into, the low carbon and environmental goods and services (LCEGS) sector; helping them to grow their business, increasing sales and employment. Here, we are seeking motivated professionals across a range of experience levels to expand our Resource Efficiency service, and are recruiting a number of positions at the following levels (see attached role profiles): Dimension 2 – Where advisors will have between 5 and 10 years’ relevant experience – Salary band of £29,219 - £36,524 Dimension 3 – Where advisors will have 10+ years’ relevant experience – Salary band of £31,763 - £39,704 For both roles, there is also scope to exceed the stated updated salary bandings for exceptional candidates. Required skills and knowledge will vary in line with role profiles but the key desired elements include: Practical/applied knowledge and experience of the identification and quantification of material, water and energy saving opportunities within SMEs, at all stages of the value chain. Understanding of both the barriers that companies face in adopting new resource-efficient practices and the ways in which these barriers can be overcome. Experience of working with SMEs, either as a direct employee or an external advisor, being able to create effective working relationships, and having a track record of successfully influencing and creating change at all levels in a company. Able to demonstrate specialist, technical expertise alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to articulate the benefits of the transition to a low carbon economy to a wide range of stakeholders. If you wish to apply for this vacancy, please click apply now where you will be redirected to our website to submit your completed application form and equal opportunities form. Your application should clearly state whether you are applying for the DIMENSION 2 or DIMENSION 3 position based on number of year’s relevant experience as outlined above.    The closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 16th November 2015 Subject to funding this post is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the NW Operational Programme 2014 - 2020
