This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Archaeologist to join a prominent and renowned Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy with an industry leading reputation for the high quality of their work. The role is based in the Cultural Heritage team and the role would suit a talented and well-rounded individual that is passionate about the Historic Environment and has the desire to develop their career in consultancy. Based in the Warrington office you would become part of a small Cultural Heritage team working on a wide range of projects often as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team. You would be expected to work with other team members on a wide range of activities including, but not limited to, carrying out archaeological research and site walkovers, writing Desk-based Assessments, contributing to EIAs, and providing support for others within the team.  Location Warrington Responsibilities Desk studies – collating and reviewing existing archaeological information and report writing Processing Historic Environment data in GIS Archaeological site walkovers Assisting with research projects and review of documentation Assistance with the assessment of the impacts of proposed developments or changes in land management and developing recommendations for the mitigation of archaeological impacts Assisting with the production of reports and other documents General administrative / management tasks relating to project quality, environmental issues, and health and safety (including risk assessment), and marketing The ideal candidate will have relevant First Degree and be Practitioner level membership of Institute for Archaeologists (IfA), or in process of applying for membership. Experience of working in the heritage sector and/or archaeological fieldwork and Knowledge of the Historic Environment and appropriate fieldwork skills, previous experience of GIS and ideally heritage related legislation and planning policy.
