Please visit:    A vacancy has arisen within the Carbon and Resource Efficiency Team in the Environment sector, to expand our current resource efficiency / waste capability to service existing contracts and develop new business.  We are looking for a resource efficiency expert with sustainability and waste experience and knowledge of the construction industry.  This will be a 12 month fixed contract in the first instance with the option to extend to a permanent position. You will be provided with opportunities for professional challenge and development within a dynamic and exciting environment.    To take on a key role within the sector, providing leadership, technical advice and leading by example where appropriate To manage selected projects (or components of projects) meeting budgetary, quality, safety and timeframe targets, while exceeding client expectations To promote and market all facets of Arcadis’ services during interfaces with clients, other sectors/disciplines and externally at seminars and conferences To identify opportunities for process improvement within the department To contribute towards the achievement of the sector/discipline business plan  To build and consolidate networks within the industry  To take on a leading role in the development of talent in the discipline Responsibilities:  Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Preparing Sustainability Statements Contributing to the production of Environmental Statements (Waste and Material Resources Chapters, Operational Waste Strategies, Materials Management Plans and Site Waste Management Plans) Providing both leadership and technical advice to team members, where appropriate Proactively managing selected projects or components of projects, taking responsibility for resource allocation, managing subcontractors, quality assurance and client feedback and ensuring effective communication of any changes/modifications Managing commercial aspects (contract, invoicing, debt, client management etc) of projects to ensure a successful result Keeping in regular contact the Technical Director and Project Managers to keep informed of all developments associated with the project Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design Responsible for preparing bid submission at the level of bid manager Proficient in Arcadis’ procedures for project and bid management Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis Qualification, skills, and experience: Essential Relevant degree in environmental science/engineering or a combination as appropriate An experienced and proactive project manager with a track record of identifying new clients and developing new business Demonstrable post-graduate experience in sustainability (including waste, material resources and carbon) and working knowledge on the construction industry best practice. To include working with clients to identify cost effective ways to minimise construction, demolition and excavation waste and to implement actions to minimise carbon emissions from construction activities and materials. Skills required include developing Sustainability Statements, Site Waste Management Plans (including the quantification of construction, excavation and demolition waste), Materials Management Plans and Waste Strategies (covering construction and operational waste). Experience of successfully managing projects to time and budget, delivering client satisfaction and adding value. Good motivation, influencing, people management and delegation skills Ability to think in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner Demonstrable client care skills in securing new work in addition to existing client retention Good knowledge and experience of commercial aspects of projects Desirable Relevant chartership with post-graduate qualification an advantage Experience delivering operational waste projects.
