Our client is a leading environmental planning and design consultancy that provides multi-disciplinary environmental services worldwide and deals with a wide range of clients. They are seeking to recruit a Senior Ecologist based in London. The role will require you to plan, prepare for, supervise and where appropriate carry out a range of ecological surveys, including habitat survey across a range of lowland and upland habitats as well as protected species surveys. Data analysis, coordination of sub-consultants, quality assurance and high quality reporting are also integral to this role. Essential skills: -Relevant first degree and possibly a post-graduate qualification -Confident and competent field ecologist with established expertise in at least one taxonomic group, including strong botany skills and experience of Phase 1 Habitat and NVC surveys. -Protected species survey licence-holders are preferred, in particular for bats. -Competency in and familiarity with UK ecological issues more generally, including relevant planning policy and legislation. -Must have extensive experience in project management, including survey design and survey team management, project financial management and the delivery of Ecological Impact Assessments, research reports and EPS licences. -Full UK driving licence -Full membership of CIEEM is desirable but not essential In return our client offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package
