Our client is a leading independent ecology consultancy specialising in ecological assessment and solutions for larger development sites and long-term monitoring of sites with high ecological value. The company work with a wide range of clients including construction and civil engineering companies, the renewables sector, housing developers, architects, planning consultants, government agencies, public bodies and homeowners. The company are seeking to appoint an Ecologist that  requires a knowledgeable, experienced and dedicated individual to join its busy, hard-working ecology team. Based at the companies office in Hampshire, the post will entail a range of field and office based activities such as: Extended Phase 1 ecology surveys; Phase 2 protected species surveys; Report writing; Project management; Client liaison; European Protected Species licensing; Management plans; CSH/BREEAM assessments; Mitigation works; and Habitat management. The successful candidate will: Hold a higher-level qualification in a relevant subject Demonstrate a minimum of three years' experience in the ecological consultancy industry Demonstrate sound identification skills across a range of species groups Demonstrate a sound knowledge of ecological and planning legislation Have excellent written and verbal communication skills Be able to produce written reports to the highest editorial standard Have the ability to communicate confidently with clients Be able to demonstrate success in working to tight budgets and deadlines Hold protected species licences - ideally for bats and great crested newt Hold a clean UK driving licence and have their own vehicle Be self-motivated; and be able to demonstrate teamwork. Candidates will be degree qualified in a relevant Ecology / Environmental Discipline.  In return the company offer a competitive salary and benefits
