This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join a prominent and renowned Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy with an industry leading reputation for the high quality of their work. The role is based in the developing Geosciences team which is involved in some of the UK’s most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding. Working closely with the UKs leading authorities and agencies and some of the most established and recognisable establishments. Due to recent contract wins an additional engineer is required to sit within the large Geoscience team based in Birmingham, Bristol or York. The role will involve delivering design and supervision of geotechnical engineering solutions across the UK on diverse civils, rail and infrastructure projects with a wide range of industries and geological conditions.   Location York, Bristol or Birmingham Responsibilities Managing projects and working in collaboration with other design teams. Owning project design integrity, managing subcontractors and team resource. Providing technical expertise and advice. Ensuring project compliance, including drawings, reports, specifications and studies. Building relationships with clients on projects. Gaining experience in commercial aspects of projects. Liaising at all levels across the business and with Clients. Preparing geotechnical calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and other project documentation. Participating in the resolution of technical issues Moving towards Chartership in relevant field. Full and valid driving license The ideal candidate will have BEng in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical bias, MSc/MEng in Geotechnical Engineering, previous experience in geotechnical design including foundations (shallow and piled), retaining walls and slope stability assessments. Experience in earthworks design, specification and implementation. Also strong project experience is required to include project planning, supervising and designing elements of a project, together with examples of applying standards and technical knowledge in projects. Experience in the use of geotechnical design programs and all office packages. In addition to this you should be a great communicator and have good motivational and people management skills with an ability to influence staff and clients particularly regarding technical issues.
