Our client is one of the leading UK consultancy companies working within the Environmental sector. They are now looking to recruit a Senior Ecologist to work within their team in Cheshire Ideally will be a Senior Ecologist with a minimum of 5+ years consultancy experience and have detailed knowledge of an ecological specialism and excellent report writing skills (including EcIA authorship) Day to Day duties will involve:  Playing a key role in the delivery of the ecological services that the consultancy provides Planning and Undertaking ecological surveys using various survey methods Scoping and Project Management of a range of medium to large-scale projects Building/maintaining relationships with Clients Business generation and promotion of the company to new clients Technical reporting and tendering Review of reports Negotiating with statutory agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders Line management and mentoring of junior members of the Ecology Team Resource planning and financial reporting Maintaining your own and others' Continuing Professional Development Operating at all times in accordance with the CIEEM Professional Code of Conduct As a Senior Member of the team you will ideally have a high level of technical competence in bats. Experience in surveys for other protected species and in undertaking habitat surveys (extended Phase 1, NVC etc.) would be an advantage. The successful candidate will have authored both ecological technical appendices and ecological chapters. You will need to write well and be fully conversant with the framework of legislation and guidance within the UK.  You should be degree educated and ideally be a full member of CIEEM.
