Our client is entering an exciting period of growth and are looking to add a number of talented and enthusiastic ecologists to their existing teams in Bristol, Leicester and Southampton. We are seeking experienced ecologists who can help their established UK team develop the ecological business with involvement in large and exciting projects in a range of sectors including residential, retail, defence and energy. The key elements of the role include the application of ecological principles to a range of projects, an in-depth knowledge of wildlife law, and the ability to identify pragmatic and client-focussed solutions to ecological constraints. Location Bristol, Leicester and Southampton Responsibilities The role will involve an extensive amount of field work, with a busy and changing survey schedule and office based work including day to day project management and client care including fee proposals and attendance at meetings. It will require the provision of support to team leaders, supervision of junior staff and liaison with a range of technical and non-technical bodies including other teams within the company. Applicants with Natural England survey licences (e.g. bats and great crested newt in particular) and ornithological skills are highly desirable. Experience in mitigation and development licensing are also an advantage. Capabilities and Qualifications: A relevant degree as a minimum Member of CIEEM Candidate must have Sound knowledge and proven experience in project delivery Involvement in a range of surveys and ideally mitigation works for notable and protected habitats and species At least two seasons of field survey experience Hold or be capable of holding a bat or great crested newt Class 1 survey licence and have experience at mapping using ArcGIS. Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to prioritise the delivery of a dynamic workload. In addition a senior will need: Proven project management experience Good client management, written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently as well as working within a team. Ability communicate on appropriate technical and commercial levels internally and to a diverse range of current and potential clients.
