Our client are a professional ecological consultancy offering more than 25 years' experience and are now looking to recruit a Senior ecologist  (Bat specialist) to join their team in Hampshire.  The Role -You will be responsible for ensuring that the Company's approach to bat work is consistent with legislation, policy and good practice, while providing pragmatic advice and support to our clients in delivering their objectives, as well as positive outcomes for biodiversity -As part of the role you will be required to design and lead bat surveys, particularly large landscape scale surveys, undertake Ecological Impact Assessments and design mitigation strategies.  -Our client undertake more specialist bat surveys that require a more in-depth understanding and application of skills, such as mist netting, radio tracking and hibernation surveys; and Surveys of less common species of bats such as Barbastelle, Bechsteins and Horseshoe Bats.  -You will also have responsibility for providing training for existing and new staff to ensure that all staff can operate at an acceptable level, and provide support for those working towards obtaining their bat survey licence, or for licensed bat surveyors, to increase their skills and keep pace with the latest technology.  -As well as being a bat specialist you will be expected to have a broad rounded ecological knowledge and to have a number of years' experience of managing projects, dealing with budgets and liaising with clients.   Role Essentials  -A bat survey licence is essential for this post (minimum requirement Level 2 licence; a Level 3 licence would be an advantage) as is having a track record of successfully obtaining bat development licences from Natural England.   In return our client offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package including pension scheme, bonus scheme and more...
