Our client is a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy operating from multiple locations throughout the UK. Staffed by experts from a broad range of environmental disciplines they provide market leading services including Contaminated Land Investigation, Remediation and Environmental Due Diligence, Environmental Risk Management Surveys, Ecological Surveys and Habitat Restoration and Water Quality Monitoring  The Contaminated Land Department has seen an exciting period of growth and, as such, are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly competent Geo-Environmental Consultant to the team. This role can be based in Leicester or Leeds where our client offer Geo-Environmental services.  The key duties expected of the role are as follows:- Undertaking preliminary geo-environmental risk assessments including desk studies and site inspections Undertaking geo-environmental intrusive investigations including the appointment and supervision of drilling and/or trial pitting, soil logging and sampling, scheduling of geotechnical and environmental analysis, and groundwater and ground gas monitoring. Logging of soils and rocks to BS5930, BS14688, BS14689 and BS22476. Preparing health, safety and environmental documentation including risk assessments and method statements. Management of site investigation field and laboratory data. Production of interpretive geo-environmental reports including the production of a conceptual site models, generic quantitative risk assessments, preliminary foundation design and earthworks assessments. Preparing ground related chapters of Environmental Statements. Undertake and support the design, implementation and verification of geotechnical and environmental remediation works. Provide geotechnical support and advice to the wider business and parent company, where required In order to meet the key duties detail above, we are looking for the following key qualifications and skills: A degree in a relevant earth sciences or geo-environmental discipline and, ideally, be a member of a relevant professional organisation. An MSc in a relevant subject would be beneficial but not essential. 2-5 years' work experience in consultancy delivering similar work. Ability to work together in a team and also independently with minimal supervision. Ability take ownership of and manage projects to meet deadlines and project budgets. Provide clear written and verbal communications to colleagues, clients, regulators and other consultants. Be competent and diligent in the production of technical reports to a high standard and to meet challenging deadlines. Good degree of flexibility. Sound knowledge of environmental and geotechnical legislation, guidance and best practice. A full clean driving licence. Although based in Leicester and Leeds, the department offers its services to clients throughout the UK and Ireland and, therefore, the successful candidate must be willing to travel and be prepared to work away from home.
