Our client is looking for a highly motivated Principal Consultant or Associate to join their Geo-environment team. Due to recently having been appointed to a framework to deliver ground investigation works for a major new national rail infrastructure project. As a result our client is seeking to recruit excellent candidates to project manage large site investigation projects, including those forming part of this project.  The role will include leading the implementation of best practice and innovation on this large infrastructure framework and will be excellent career experience. Reporting to a senior member of the Geo-environment discipline you will be responsible for tendering, organisation, management, supervision and factual reporting of contracts up to £500k, the management of health and safety on site leading role as Principal Contractor, logging of soil and rock in accordance with BS5930:1999, Amendment 1, BS EN ISO 14688 and BS EN ISO 14689 and the training of staff to log soil and rock. You will also have responsibility for training junior staff, Factual reporting and the review of factual reports and data. With a First degree or equivalent in geology, civil engineering or related subject, you will have substantial experience in procurement, management, supervision and reporting of site investigation works in the UK including a demonstrable track record in leading contracts up to £500k in value. You will be fully familiar with industry standard specifications for ground investigation, have excellent Contract Administration skills, knowledge of industry standard contracts e.g ICC and NEC and experience of a range of infrastructure projects including rail & highways. Excellent technical experience in core ground investigation techniques plus substantial experience in non-core techniques e.g. specialist surface and downhole in-situ testing including geophysics, a proven track record in health and safety legislation, the review of health and safety documentation, experience of conducting ground investigations in urban environments and knowledge and experience in environmental management as applied to ground investigation site operations. Demonstrable experience in coaching junior staff to develop their skills and abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a full UK driving licence is required. Experience across a range of sectors and geographical locations is essential and in particular experience of working in the rail sector and in central London are desirable.
