A leading development and infrastructure consultancy are now searching to recruit a Senior Drainage & Flood Risk Engineer to be based from their office in Cambridgeshire  The opportunity requires a competent, and preferably Chartered, engineer to manage projects from conception, through design, to implementation and commissioning. Experience of the Flood Risk Grant in Aid process would be an advantage. The successful candidate will also be able to prepare surface water and foul drainage strategies for Flood Risk Assessments and will also be writing technical reports and justification for their design designs and investigations.  The ideal candidate will be able to undertake civils design work, demonstrating experience of some of the following: below ground drainage deign, river structures, bank protection, river & lake restoration, spillways and reinforced concrete structures Job responsibilities: -Feasibility studies and optioneering, and development of strategies -The design of drainage schemes and river structures -Project appraisal reports and economic justification -Management of projects and client liaison -Provide input into design meetings and prepare tender documents and specifications for the works -Contract management Qualifications Relevant degree and will have experience of operating in a consulting environment and be able to balance the demands of multiple projects and clients Essential Skills: -Have proven experience of preparing drainage design and river structures -Have proven experience of interpreting flood risk data from varied sources -Experience of client and stakeholder engagement -Be proficient in the suite of Microsoft Office and have experience of using Windes (Microdrainage) and ideally ISIS and TUFLOW -Have an understanding of flood risk legislation guidance and other relevant water policies for the UK and internationally -Have an understanding and preferably experience of the Flood Risk Grant in Aid process -Have the ability to manage and deliver multiple projects  -Ideally the applicant will be able to demonstrate their experience, competency and flexibility to meet the demands of the role In return our client offer a competitive salary with flexible benefits package which includes contributory pension plan, discretionary bonus scheme and flexible benefits allowance
