Our client enjoys a reputation as one of the country's leading environmental consultancies with specialist staff located throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and success they are now looking to recruit as Senior Geo-environmental Consultant to join their London based team Candidates should have 6 to 8 years work experience in Phase 1 and 2 contaminated land assessments including management and supervision of site investigations and ideally with some experience of ground or groundwater remediation including supervision of remediation works. They will have a first degree in geology, environmental science or related subject and preferably a Masters degree in contaminated land, environmental science, hydrogeology, engineering geology or a related subject. Several years' experience in contaminated land assessment and investigation Member of a professional organisation and evidence of committed CPD. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Key accountabilities and responsibilities will include the following: Ability to work on own initiative with support provided from more experienced staff but reports to a senior member of the London geo-environmental team. 1.    Undertaking Phase 1desk top studies 2.    The management of site investigation works, including costing and procuring work from sub-contractors, dealing with suppliers and preparation of health and safety documentation 3.    Factual and interpretative Phase 2 ground contamination reporting - good writing skills essential 4.    Generic Quantitative Risk Assessment. 5.    Some experience of Detailed Quantitative Risk Asessment an advantage 6.    Remediation strategy development (assistance with this on larger projects) 7.    Supervision of remediation works (assistant level on larger projects), outline knowledge of remediation techniques 8.    Confident communicator with clients, regulators and other stakeholders 9.    Management of project budgets and programme 10.    The design and supervision of Phase 2 ground contamination site investigations 11.    Assistance in the collation of all project related health and safety information in line with project requirements 12.    Has or working towards chartership In return for your dedication, you'll enjoy a quality total remuneration package, including contributory pension.
