Our client are a growing independent ecological consultancy who are searching for a Principal Ecologist in South Wales. Main duties: -Leading a varied portfolio of interesting and complex ecological projects from initial client meetings through to completion -Business development including developing and maintaining relationships with clients, tender preparation and fee proposals -Project and people management to ensure effective delivery of projects on time and within budget -Ensuring all work is completed to an excellent standard and complying with the company's quality and project management procedures The successful candidate will have: -A minimum of 5 years' experience with substantial experience at a senior level in a consultancy environment; -Full membership of CIEEM and a relevant post-graduate qualification; First-rate project management skills including financial control of projects and outstanding client liaison abilities; -Strong technical skills in one or more specialist areas -Experience of working on Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects -Proven experience of writing technical reports, fee proposals, ES chapters and EPSLs -A full working knowledge of EIA, the planning process and relevant environmental legislation -Exceptional people management skills, with the capability to lead high performing teams that fully support the company values In addition the successful cadidiate will have the potential for future progression to Associate Director.
