Our client are a leading multi-disciplinary Water Management company who are now seeking to recruit a Senior Flood and Coastal Risk Management Specialist to join their team in Sussex The successful candidate will have a technical speciality in one or more of the following areas: -Hydraulic modelling of river, sewer or coastal processes; Proficient in the use of TuFlow, ISIS or InfoWorks ICM; hydraulic modelling software packages and relevant supporting software packages (SMS, MapInfo, ArcGIS and / or QGIS) -Flood Estimation Handbook hydrological analysis methods, including the Statistical Analysis method, ReFH and with use of the FEH CD-ROM V3 and WinFAP V3 and must have applied these to a wide range of rural and urban catchments -Flood risk assessment for development at a variety of scales including specification and / or design of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS). -Deliver the above technical specialisms in the context of Local Authority flood risk services ranging from Strategic Flood Risk Assessments to delivery of duties under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010. -Be responsible for the technical quality of work carried out within the team, providing supervision of projects or providing leading technical skills as a technical specialist with minimal guidance -Review and check work (technical outputs and associated reporting) completed by others -Supervise project teams of junior staff and other senior staff -Identify training and skills development needs of junior staff and planning / facilitation delivery of the necessary training / skills development in conjunction with the Team Leader -Prepare proposals / bids to clients to provide water and flood risk management services including methodologies, budgets, resource plans, contractual and commercial arrangements under the direction of the Team Leader -Work co-operatively across functions and business units to share information and ideas -Set an example to other team members, recognising the responsibility to train and assist others with their professional development and achieve the highest possible standards of work Relevant Qualifications: Essential -Bachelor level qualifications in engineering -Chartered membership of a recognised professional body -Proven experience in one or more of the technical specialities described above -Experience of working with the Environment Agency, developers or Local Authorities in the context of flood risk management -Experience in business development and bid preparation Desirable -Masters level or higher qualifications in engineering -Full driving licence -Knowledge of project management techniques -Knowledge of economic appraisal techniques Relevant Skills: Essential  -Methodical and consistent working practices -Extensive technical skill in their nominated technical specialism (including associated software packages) -Excellent report writing skills -Proficient in a wide range of IT skills including Microsoft Office Desirable -Good presentation and communication skills -Coastal process modelling (MIKE21 or similar) -Design and options appraisal for flood risk management -Manage projects including resources, delivery, budgets, finances, invoicing, client relations programme and quality compliance      In return our client offer a competitive salary with an excellent benefits package
