Acre has been engaged with one of the world's largest producers of alcoholic beverages, who have over 1000 employees, and operate in over 200 countries. This role involves the candidate to ensure that the business is fully compliant with current and future energy and environmental legislation. You will also address their climate change policies, energy usage, and their carbon management strategy.Responsibilities will include:Defining, developing and supporting an energy and carbon management strategy for the business (including carbon trading), through evaluation of regulatory requirements, assessing emerging technologies and integrating wider industry knowledge as required through the evaluation of regulatory requirements, industry consultations, statistical data, emerging technologies, research papers and knowledge of industry and wider external developmentsDeveloping their environmental management and reporting processes, including evaluating their current policies and programmes that promote sustainable developmentProviding monthly reporting and analysis to the Senior Management against the agreed strategyIdentifying business risks and proposing recommendations to effectively mitigate them throughout, whilst developing and implementing controls to manage relevant risk to an acceptable levelPlanning, overseeing and undertaking internal reviews or projects to identify opportunities for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the energy and environmental systemsThe successful candidate will have:Experience in a similar role, ideally in an FMCG environment, engaging directly with key business leaders and SHE advisorsAn Engineering background ideally, alongside a relevant degreeA solid understanding of current environmental legislation and how this impacts commercial decision makingKnowledge and experience of developing and implementing ISO management systemsThe ability to work collaboratively while retaining the capability to form and articulate independent views and opinionsThe successful candidate will strive to quickly bring commercial value to the business, alongside embedding positive impacts to the local community and the surrounding environment.
