Our client is an expanding Consultancy that is now recruiting for an Ecologist / Senior Ecologist to join their team in Devon. They work with a great variety of clients across many sectors including charitable trusts, local authorities, private landowners and agricultural establishments. As an experienced Ecologist you will be able to work effectively across a wide range of disciplines and help to manage and develop their expanding client base. The successful candidate will be motivated, ambitious and an enthusiastic ecologist who is passionate and ready for a new challenge. The ideal candidate will have:  -A degree in an ecology-related subject -Preferably be a full member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management or other equivalent organisations -Minimum of 4 years Ecology Consultancy experience  -Experience of preparing European Protected Species Licenses and writing high quality ecological reports -Undertaking Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs) for Environmental Statements -Project management, including sub-contractors and budgets -Working closely with planners, landscape architects, developers, local planning and other relevant organisations -Adeptness in conducting and evaluating detailed botanical and protected species surveys including -Phase 1 and NVC methodologies -Full, Clean UK Driving License The successful applicant will be required to manage and complete work comprising: -Extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys and protected species surveys  -Mitigation strategies, management plans and Ecological Impact Assessment chapters -Write concise reports and communicate clear verbal guidance to clients -Ability to co-ordinate and manage projects and sub-contractors and prepare tenders for      Projects -Assist directors in business development and marketing activities A postgraduate qualification in ecology or a related subject and the possession of one or more protected species survey licences.  In return, the company is offering a competitive salary.
