Our client is a leading Environmental Company providing services to numerous clients throughout the UK and on the International stage.  They are now recruiting for a Principal Ecologist with demonstrable project management experience to be based out of their Hampshire office. This is a key position within the National Ecology team so the company are seeking a strong individual who can help the established team develop the ecological business in the region and manage multidisciplinary projects, such as large urban expansions, road schemes and coastal work.  The ideal candidate will have the following: Relevant degree as a minimum Protected Species Licences Good client management, written and verbal communication skills Good team working and project management skills Knowledge of relevant UK and European legislation, policy and guidance Excellent field including Phase 1 habitat surveys Experience of preparing mitigation method statements, including drafting licences applications Experience of working in teams and independently  Good business development skills  Ability to communicate on appropriate technical and commercial levels internally and to a diverse range of current and potential clients Ability to assist in report reviews Full driving licence CIEEM Membership  Knowledge of GIS, bat sound analysis, ornithology and/or protected species mitigation as well Chartered Environmentalist status or the ability to apply are also desirable qualities In return the company are offering a competitive salary and benefits package
