Our client is a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy with offices throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and expansion of the company's geo-environmental consultancy business, there is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Ecologist to join their team based in Manchester. As a Senior Ecologist, you will have the opportunity to get involved in the whole life cycle of a variety of project work, undertaking both office and field duties. You will have the autonomy to build your own team and expand our client's ecological service offering across the south of the UK, playing a key role in the successful implementation of the Environmental Services business plan. The successful Senior Ecologist will be responsible for the following: Successful Project Management  Undertake business development, expansion of existing client base and resource management in the southern region  Assisting in the winning, delivery and management of ecological projects Planning and undertaking field surveys: protected species, habitat and botanical Report writing, including chapters for Environmental statements and EIA Preparing development licences for European protected species Ecological clerk of work roles Supervision of junior members of the team, subcontractors and seasonal staff Liaising with clients and stakeholders Business development and expansion of client base The successful Senior Ecologist must have the following qualifications and experience: Degree in a relevant field  5 years consultancy experience CIEEM Membership Successful track record in management of projects Knowledge of relevant UK and European legislation, policy and guidance Experience in the preparation of mitigation method statements, including obtaining licences for European Protected Species Excellent report writing skills Demonstrable experience in managing multi-species projects Proven business development skills including fee scheduling and tender writing Proven project management experience, including resource allocation and invoicing EIA experience In return, the company is offering a competitive salary and benefits package to the right candidate.
