Our client is a successful environmental consultancy that provides specialist services and advice to both public and private sector clients. The company has experienced continual growth since its inception and they now require a Senior Ecologist to work out of their Cambridgeshire office.  The role will involve working within a dynamic team of professionals conducting site visits to assess general and specific ecological issues as well as providing input into environmental impact assessments and ecological reports. Other duties will include liaising with clients and external organisations and ensuring a high quality and integrated service is provided at all times.  Key tasks: Liaise with clients/potential clients to promote the growth of the company Co-ordinate and implement a range of ecological and habitat surveys Co-ordinate and implement protected species surveys Organise and manage junior staff and sub-contractors for field work Liaising with and providing high quality technical support and advice to our clients Project, budget and staff management, production of tenders Attend meetings on behalf of clients Support senior management  Applicants must have a degree in Ecology or a closely related subject and a further postgraduate qualification would be an advantage. Professional experience within ecology and conservation is essential and the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent field and scientific knowledge.  Protected species expertise is also required for the role along with membership of a relevant professional institute.
