Our client is leading multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy with expertise in EIA, ecology, heritage, landscape and environmental management.  The company are currently expanding and are looking for an Ecologist to join their Hampshire team. Candidates will ideally have over 5 years consultancy with a sound understanding of ecological survey and reporting. The role will involve managing projects throughout the country, organising and undertaking  ecological surveys and producing a variety of reports. You will report to a regional lead and will be responsible for mentoring junior consultants in technical and general project management duties. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across a range of sectors. Experience of undertaking extended phase I habitat surveys, surveying for protected species and a good understanding of the planning process is essential.  You will ideally hold protected species survey licences. Responsibilities: Ecological Surveys including extended Phase 1 habitat surveys and protected species surveys Writing ecological appraisal reports Project management Mentoring of junior staff Production of proposals and tenders Maintaining strong relationships with clients and regulators Technical Skills & Experience Previous consultancy background (5+ years) Extended phase I habitat surveys and protected species surveys GCN survey licence (additional licences will be beneficial) Experience in project management Thorough, competent and efficient report writing skills with a critical eye for detail You will be educated to degree level ideally to MSc level in Ecology or related subject.
