About Facilities Management Facilities Management (FM) is a multi-award-winning support department; the largest support team at the University employing over 300 members of staff across seven operational service teams. About the Role Reporting to the Head of Environment & Safety Management, you will be a key contributor to the University’s sustainable development agenda, leading the review and development of the University’s respective Environmental Management and Travel Plans. You will also contribute to the development our Traffic and Parking Management Strategy and subordinate provisions (including our Car Parking Policy) to ensure sustainable practices are embedded throughout University operations. As an organisation externally recognised for its commitment to the sustainable development of its estate and innovative approach to improving environmental performance, you will work with key stakeholders from across the organisation, influencing and engaging them with the objective of reducing the University’s environmental impact through continual monitoring and audit. About You You will have significant experience working as an environmental management practitioner with a sound knowledge of environmental management principles and their practical application within a large and complex organisation. You will have detailed knowledge and understanding of environmental management systems (EMS) and governance frameworks with the ability to clearly translate and articulate these to different audiences within the organisation- from our operational teams to Senior Management – in order to develop their understanding and secure their commitment to improved environmental performance.
