Our client is one of the UK's longest established providers of duct cleaning services, providing comprehensive compliance solutions for building managers in all aspects of air and water hygiene and kitchen extract fire safety. The company are now recruiting for a Water Surveying Manager to manage a team mainly in the South East and Midlands. The successful candidate will have 10 direct compliance risk assessors and 2 administration staff reporting to them.  Responsibilities: To act as head of the surveying department, managing all the members of the compliance risk assessing team and work output, as well as, carrying out all the assessments, including Legionella risk assessments in accordance with the Approved Code of Practice L8, on clients premises throughout the UK.  To establish statutory compliance and benchmark systems against the industry recognised standards as appropriate. To act as the technical lead giving internal training and guidance, as well as support to the sales and marketing teams to deliver presentations and seminars to clients of all levels. Ensure that planned works are completed to schedule and on budget Ensure that all Compliance Reports are completed and issued within 5 days of job completion and report to Service Delivery Director on reasons why if this cannot be achieved Job Specific Functions Representing the company and promoting a professional image in the marketplace  Managing all the aspects and functions carried out by the compliance risk assessment team. Developing surveying information collection and reporting methods to include developing and monitoring agreed KPI's Developing methods of costing surveying and remedial works identified in survey reports. Keeping up to date with current air/water hygiene legislation and informing the company with regard to any relevant changes.  To report back sales opportunities after client/site visits, and to ensure that this is communicated to the compliance risk assessment team.   Ensuring survey compliance with statutory requirements and technical guidance within survey reports Organising appropriate equipment necessary for the tasks in hand, and ensuring all equipment is functional and within calibration limits Carry out site surveys for air and water quality of associated buildings, according to company method statements and procedures Liaising with client/site personnel with regards to work progress/issues Writing up reports using standard documentation, entering site data and forming conclusions  Using the Prospects CRM system to record all completed works, and to set re-calls for the sales team Setting a good and professional example to others and ensure that customers and staff are dealt with in a professional and courteous manner Developing and implementing new software solutions to help improve the efficiency and output of the department Liaising with the sales team on important site issues and remedial works required Supporting other members of the compliance risk assessing team when possible Training of surveying/sales staff on surveying works Recruitment of surveying staff. To ensure the continuity and accuracy of surveying reports Ensuring profitability of surveying services offered Developing action strategies for out of parameter air/water sample results Carrying out quality control checks in line with current KPI's, of all survey reports and follow up with feedback to the individuals in a timely manner. Personnel and Training  Responsible for organizing, leading & recording the minutes of any disciplinary, appraisal or  confidential meetings for all surveying staff  To carry out surveying staff appraisals  To identify any training requirements for surveying staff and recommend to Service Delivery  Director           Recommending salary and package options for surveyors Sales Support To give support to the sales department by assisting with contract renewals Ensuring sales team offer surveying services and ensuring service proposals are suitable and     clear. To provide on-going technical support to the sales department for the submission of quotes and tenders. To provide technical training at sales meetings to ensure changes to legislation or services offered are clearly communicated. A confident and practical individual with good attention to detail and the ability to work alone or within a team.  The candidate should also possess good communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be good with personal time management, well presented, IT literate and have sound mathematical skills. A driving licence is essential.
