Our client is a Scientific & Engineering Consultancy working within the Water Industry. They are now recruiting for a Senior Water Treatment Engineering Consultant to work in London and the South East.  Candidates should have considerable experience of services associated with water and the regulations and guidance appertaining thereto. Capable of handling a personal workload. Responsible for ensuring full compliance with the regulatory requirements associated with the ACoP, L8 and Water Quality Regulations.  To ensure that agreed procedures and policies are followed for maintenance work and for design, investigation and installation of improvement work.  To ensure that the work undertaken complies with the needs of the client and is within the required timescale and cost.  Main Duties  Preparation of investigatory reports: to include Legionella audits of domestic water systems, cooling towers and spa pools, compliance with BSRIA BG29:2012, cause of failure investigations. Preparation of schemes, estimates and designs for maintenance and improvement work.  Preparation of performance specifications, and contract documents for maintenance and improvement work.  Monitoring the performance of contractors carrying out maintenance and improvement work.  Preparation of technical reports and correspondence,  Maintaining effective liaison with colleagues, client representatives and other external bodies.  Undertaking specific tasks or investigations at the request of senior management.  To listen to and relay market intelligence.  Maintain high standards in terms of personal appearance conduct and respect of Company property.  Detailed knowledge and experience of building services design, maintenance and operation, with particular emphasis on mechanical engineering plant and equipment.  Must have a detailed knowledge of the regulations and standards of work and safety that are applicable to the building services industry. In particular Approved Code of practice L8 and HSG 274 part 1, 2 & 3, BSRIA guides, CIBSE Guides and 'The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999'.  Must be aware of the measures needed to ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with sound engineering policy and practice is cost effective, to appropriate timescales and meets the client's requirements.  Must be able to plan and implement positive action to deal with changing priorities.  Must have the interpersonal skills necessary to enable effective working relationships to be established and maintained and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both orally and in writing.  Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred although candidates with more than 10 years' experience within the industry will be taken into consideration.
