Our client is a professional, independent environmental consultancy operating throughout the UK with a friendly and open professional culture. Now looking to strengthen and grow their ecological team, they are recruiting Ecologists of varying levels to be based in Worcestershire. The Ecologist will require the following: Degree in Ecology or similar environmental or biological science Full Membership of CIEEM or equivalent; At least 1 Natural England protected species survey licence Experienced in completion of Phase 1 Habitat Surveys and EIAs Extensive experience completing a variety of phase 2 protected species surveys Project management and client liaison experience Excellent report writing skills  Ability to liaise with clients and sub-contractors Experience preparing ecological mitigation schemes, including licensing and habitat creation The role will involve the following: Consulting and assisting junior staff Undertaking ecological assessments and co-ordinate their compilation Supporting interdisciplinary projects Acting as Ecology business unit representative  Project management and delivery of projects profitably on time and on budget Tendering and budgeting for new work Negotiating with statutory agencies Protected species work and licencing Develop the Ecology service of the Oxfordshire office Plan and incorporation with other business units including arboriculture Provide input into Ecology Business Unit and Company projects and meetings In return the company will offer the opportunity to obtain additional licences and a competitive salary.
