Are you an experienced Ecologist with 7+ year’s consultancy experience? A fantastic opportunity for a principal/associate ecologist to play a pivotal role in the rapid growth one of the most progressive and dynamic independent multi-disciplinary consultancies in the UK. The successful candidate will assist with the promotion and development of the ecology team in their Shrewsbury office and provide technical consultancy services to a number of prestigious clients. Location Shrewsbury Responsibilities To spend at least 70% of time on project/chargeable objectives; Win and manage complex (multidisciplinary) projects and inputs. Provide a single point of contact for clients on these projects and demonstrate exemplary client care Manage and assist other Project Managers (PM), and other members of the team as appropriate, to deliver multi-disciplinary projects; Ensure that all technical content from self and others is correct and sound; Liaise and/or direct internal/external project teams, attending meetings (both internally and externally) as required and appropriate; Maintain and develop existing and new client prospects and projects by optimizing quality of service, leading to business growth and client satisfaction; Translate technical data and survey information into a written format – report writing – which is clear, pragmatic and client/solution-focused. Ensuring understanding of the findings and implications as appropriate to relevant legislation, planning policy or other pertinent good practice guidance; Second read reports for technical content and overall plain English; Be responsible for an initially small team of Ecologists, being line manager and/or mentor where appropriate; Undertake Ecological surveys as and when required which may involve working outside of the usual core hours, i.e. early mornings, late evenings, overnight, as appropriate to the type of survey undertaken. Capabilities and Qualifications: Candidate must have Degree (Ecology related) Desk Study - Implementation Extended Phase 1 Survey Phase 2 Survey: Hedgerows, GCN, Reptiles, Badgers, Bats GCN Licence Holder Confidence with Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure; Ability to exercise initiative and common sense; Ability to work independently; Attention to detail. Have a UK driving license with access to own car with business use insurance The following attributes would be desirable.
