Our client is a leading provider of integrated water treatment and process improvement services, chemicals and equipment programs for industrial and institutional applications. They are now recruiting for a Lead Chemist to be based out of Jampshire Overview: Lead Chemist -  principal responsibilities include the technical support of specialty chemical sales efforts to the petroleum industry, in particular PAC7 Additives step out initiative and the Refinery PAC4 process areas by facilitating the transfer of technology from the laboratory environment to a commercial application and supporting key marketing activity in these areas. A key focus for this position is the development of new technology (methods or materials) to promote chemical programs in the fuel additive industries. Additional responsibilities require field and lab support of existing applications through implementation of best practice techniques and identifying/resolving customer concerns. Main Responsibilities: Presenting product/process capabilities to customers in order to identify and promote opportunities Working in laboratory to identify products that meets customer needs Providing technical field support across the EAMER region Developing new methods and materials to solve customer problems and bring new technology to the market Identifying additive and service opportunities to address industry needs Working with the customer's corporate organization to facilitate product registrations and approvals.  Implementing the product/process in the field and modifying as needed to optimize performance Troubleshooting existing applications to resolve areas of concern Conducting testing in the field to validate additive performance or resolve additive effectiveness issues Recommending application techniques and equipment Surveying applications to identify potential improvements in products or processes Will also provide additional technical resource for the regional  strategy (in PAC7 additives and PAC4 Refinery) through lab support based out of Hampshire. Skill Requirements: Familiarity with refinery operations and fuel quality specifications and test methods Basic understanding of refining processes and refinery units Familiarity with fuel additives and relevant test methods Working knowledge relative to chemical injection systems, pumps, and other relevant equipment Strong oral and written communication skills as the position requires discussions and presentations with customers and team members Ability to interface with different segments of customer organizations Must be action oriented, ethical in value, and customer focused with a drive for results Proficiency in use of personal computer and MS Windows and MS Office applications English fluency required. Qualifications: Degree in chemistry or chemical engineering and a minimum of 5 years' experience in the refining, fuel additives, or fuels industry.
