The Company A multidisciplinary consultancy providing sustainable solutions to meet the planning, engineering design and project delivery needs of the property, infrastructure, environment and energy markets. A succesful and growing environmental business, the Ecology team works on a national basis, with the bulk of the team based in Bristol and London. Projects range from large scale urban extensions, regeneration sites, waste and energy portfolios through to smaller residential and commercial projects. The role Joining an established team, you'll be working on a wide variety of projects, undertaking and reporting on surveys, writing reports, inputting into EIAs and Environmental statements, building strong relationships with clients. You'll also gain experience in inputting into bid proposals and winning new business, with the support of more senior colleagues. The Person You will be a degree qualified ecologist with at least 1-4 years relevant consultancy experience in the UK. You will ideally possess and be able to demonstrate: a detailed knowledge of conservation legislation in the UK membership of CIEEM experience of coordinating and undertaking protected species, habitat and ‘Extended’ Phase 1 Habitat Surveys hold at least one class survey licence for a European protected species (or working towards such) having held or been an accredited agent on development licences for protected species within the last 3 years would be an advantage Excellent report writing skills for Ecological Appraisals, Protected Species Reporting, CfSH and BREEAM Assessments a good understanding of the EIA process and have experience in undertaking ES chapters would be an advantage the ability to engage in the scheme design process detailing ecological mitigation and enhancement measures Experience in preparing fee proposals and taking part in fee negotiations would be an advantage Experience and track record of working in the commercial arena The ability to develop strong relationships with clients and key influencers in order to encourage repeat and new business hold a full UK driving licence and willing to travel throughout the UK for survey work.
